JOHN WESLEY WITT SR.

John Wesley Witt Sr., 84, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Witt was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah. He was retired from Colonial Oil after 35 years of service. Mr. Witt was a member of the Old Timers Softball League and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, J.L. “Chick” Witt and Richard Witt.

Surviving are, his wife of 54 years, Joyce G. Witt, a son , John Wesley Witt Jr., and wife Monica, a daughter, Nancy W. Stone and husband Brett, two sisters, Mildred Pender and Evelyn Bunger, grandchildren, Cecilia Witt, Wesley Witt III and Lucy Stone all of Savannah.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with burial in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Remembrances to: Montgomery Presbyterian Church, 10192 Ferguson Avenue, Savannah Georgia 31406.
